What's happening with the economy?

It's pretty much anyone's guess at this point what will happen with the economy. However, on Thursday night, NBA has gathered local financial experts to ponder some of the big questions.

Questions to the panelists will include how the Madison area is doing commercially and residentially, job expectations, personal finance as well as business goals during these uncertain economic times. There will be time for additional questions from the audience. The panel members include:

1. Greg Adkinson, financial advisor, M&I Wealth Management
2. Jason Engledow, Commercial Lending, Associated Bank
3. Duwayne Statz, Financial Advisor, RW Baird
4. Jeff Prebish, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones
5. Dennis Winters, Chief Economist with the WI Department of Workforce Development:

Have a Say on the Northside

Two important community forums will be held in the next few weeks. It’s important that city and community leaders hear the northside’s business voice – so please try to attend one or both! NBA is co-sponsoring these forums with the Northside Planning Council.

Northside Transportation and Traffic Safety Issues
Take part in a forum discussion to help define the problems and identify the best potential tools and strategies to improve traffic safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists as well as improve access to and visibility for local businesses.
Wednesday, October 29 – 6:30 to 8:30
Warner Park Community Center

Economic Development on the Northside
Monday, November 10 – 6:30 to 8:30
Warner Park Community Center
For this forum the NPC is asking for NBA members to volunteer to lead the discussion panel. The volunteer business panel will be starting off the discussion with responses to several prepared questions, with the rest of the community participants responding to either the questions or the ideas from the panelists. Any panel member would be given the format and expectations in advance, so they will be well prepared. Anyone interested in sitting on the panel is encouraged to contact NPC Treasurer Ellen Barnard 576-3734 or NPC Lead Organizer Tim Carlisle 334-5890.
